(Bloomberg) -- Armed men raided the offices of Kenya's official opposition on Friday evening, stealing cameras, computer servers and laptops four days before a presidential election.
As many as 30 men, who said they were police, stormed the offices in Nairobi, the capital, demanding total cooperation from the employees, National Super Alliance Communication Director Dennis Onyango said in an emailed statement Saturday. NASA leaders were away at the coast. The robbers also took photos of all the staff's identification documents of all the staff, Onyango said.
The people who broke into NASA's offices weren't from the police, the Nairobi-based Nation Media Group reported, citing George Kinoti, a police spokesman. The alliance has yet to report the incident at any police station, he told NMG.
NASA's leaders will stage a final campaign rally in Nairobi on Saturday. Kenya is set to hold general elections on Tuesday, with President Uhuru Kenyatta of the Jubilee Party seeking a second and final term. He's up against former prime minister and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
