JioFibre Awaiting Diwali Launch; To Offer 100GB Data At Rs 500: Report
Reliance Jio is planning to make a massive entry in broadband services with its commercial launch of JioFibre around Diwali this year, according to a report by The Economic Times. Aiming to replicate what Reliance Jio has achieved by gaining 100 million users in 170 days, JioFibre is likely to offer 100GB of data at Rs 500. Currently, other broadband services charge double of the amount with offering just half of the data. JioFibre, which has already announced its preview offer (under testing period) in few cities, will offer its services in more cities before the commercial launch.
From June, Jio plans to expand its free trial offer beyond the few cities where it is currently available, the report added. Much like Jio's entry in the telecom sector, JioFibre is also expected to start a price war in the broadband services too.
Feeling the heat from JioFibre, Bharti Airtel has already announced its new broadband plans offering 1,000GB of bonus data. However, the free 1,000GB data is valid on select plans only.
