Hero MotoCorp Ltd. reported a modest 2.6% year-on-year increase in total dispatches in August, even as exports declined sharply amid continued weakness in its international business.
The two-wheeler maker dispatched 5,68,398 motorcycles and scooters in August 2026, compared with 5,53,727 units in the same month last year. Domestic dispatches rose 4.5% to 5,42,305 units from 5,19,139 units a year earlier.
Exports, however, remained a drag on overall volumes. Hero MotoCorp shipped 26,093 units overseas in August, down 24.5% from 34,588 units in August 2025.
Motorcycle dispatches declined 1.5% year-on-year to 4,93,851 units, compared with 5,01,523 units a year earlier.
The decline was offset by a sharp increase in scooter volumes, which jumped 42.8% to 74,547 units from 52,204 units.

Hero MotoCorp said retail momentum remained strong ahead of the festive season, with VAHAN registrations growing 19% year-on-year in August.
Its domestic internal-combustion engine business recorded dispatches of 5,16,747 units, while VAHAN retail growth stood at 18%.
The company said models including Splendor, Passion, Glamour X and Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 continued to support demand, while Destini and Xoom strengthened its scooter portfolio.

Meanwhile, its electric mobility business VIDA dispatched 25,558 units during the month, with VAHAN retail registrations rising 38%.
For the first five months of FY27, Hero MotoCorp's total dispatches stood at 27.79 lakh units, up from 23.71 lakh units in the corresponding period of FY26.
Domestic volumes rose to 26.16 lakh units, while exports increased to 1.63 lakh units from 1.36 lakh units.
