Graduates, These Are The Skills IT Firms Are Looking For
Here Are The Tech Skills Employers Are Looking In Fresh Graduates

As India's IT industry loses some of its momentum this year, companies have reportedly reduced their uptake of fresh graduates. Along with slower hiring trends over the past few quarters, reports of layoffs of mid-level employees earlier this year have created anxiety among college graduates over securing tech jobs and standing out among a crowd of workers with similar skills. To help fresh graduates figure out the demands of the industry, Simplilearn, an online professional education portal, has come up with a detailed finding about some of the top skills that employers in India are looking for in fresh graduates.

According to Simplilearn, in Big Data and Analytics jobs, which have the highest median pay of Rs 4 lakh per annum for young graduates, employers want potential employees to be aware of SAS, Python, Big Data, Hive, Macros, Advanced Excel etc.

Digital Marketing, which also has a high demand for fresh graduates, requires a different set of skills. With salaries in the range of Rs 1.6 lakh to Rs 3.6 lakh, digital marketing jobs require skills in Webtrends, SEO, Display Advertising, Social Media, Google Adwords among others, according to Simplilearn.

Mobile and Software Development jobs, which have a median salary of Rs 3 lakh per annum, require potential candidates to be proficient in Java, Dotnet, PHP, ASP, Android, NoSQL among others.

For fresh graduates aspiring for jobs in IT services and IT Architecture, CCNA, CCNP, Networking, Technical Support and PHP are among the most important skills required.

Project management job roles require graduates to be trained in Six Sigma, Tendering, AutoCAD and PMP certification.
