French Economy on Course for Strongest Year Since 2011: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- France's economy is headed for its best year since 2011, national statistics office Insee said, raising its forecast for annual growth to 1.8 percent. “Through the end of the year, the economy will continue to grow vigorously across all sectors,” it said, adding that industrial output -- which has underperformed in recent years -- is benefiting from strong external demand. Even so, French growth is trailing that of the euro zone, which Insee expects to expand 2.2 percent in 2017.
