Eicher Motors Ltd.'s sales and exports climbed up in September driven by a spike in demand for its Royal Enfield motorcycles with engine capacity up to 350 cc.
Overall sales rose 22 percent to 70,431 units over the same month last year. The company sold 66,104 two-wheelers up to 350 cc, a jump of 27 percent over the year-ago month, according to its exchange filing. Sales of models with higher engine capacity, however, fell 24 percent to 4,327 units year-on-year.
Exports grew 17 percent to 1,038 units as compared to last September.

Shares of Eicher Motors snapped a six-day decline and closed 3.41 percent higher to Rs 31,213.30 a piece on Friday.
