Deadline For Filing 2018-19 Income Tax Return Extended To September 30
Income Tax Return Extended: This is the third extension for 2018-19 fiscal.

The Income Tax Department on Wednesday extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for financial year 2018-19 (assessment year 2019-20) by two months. With the latest extension, the new deadline to file the income tax return for the period is September 30. The government had earlier extended a slew of deadlines to ease the process of filing original and revised income tax returns (ITRs) for assesses in wake of the coronavirus pandemic and the resultant nationwide lockdown. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) - which is the top policymaking body of the Income Tax Department, extended the due date for filing of ITRs for financial year 2018-19 from July 31, 2020 to September 30, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to further ease compliance for taxpayers, the tax department said on Twitter.
