Coal India Ltd. said it produced 42.7 million tonnes of coal in June, almost 99 percent of its target of 43.3 million tonnes.
The coal off-take for Coal India and its eight subsidiaries stood at 44.9 million tonnes, the company informed stock exchanges. The coal off-take is five percent less than the company's internal target.
Coal India's output for the April-June period was 125.6 million tonnes as against its target of 132.4 million tonnes.
According to the Press Trust of India, the Central government plans to boost Coal India's annual production to meet growing fuel demand.
