(Bloomberg) -- Bank of America Corp. promoted Craig Coben to vice chairman of global capital markets, according to an internal memo.
Coben, who was previously head of global equity capital markets since 2014, will remain based in London and continue reporting to A.J. Murphy, who announced the appointment in a note sent on Monday to the firm's staff. The contents of the memo were confirmed by a bank spokeswoman. Coben will remain focused on some of the bank's most important clients, according to Murphy.
The 51-year-old executive, who has been at Bank of America for 13 years, most recently advised on the 3 billion-euro ($3.7 billion) initial public offering of Allied Irish Banks Plc -- the largest in Europe last year -- and a 950 million-pound ($1.3 billion) capital increase that Phoenix Group Holdings announced last month to fund its acquisition of Standard Life Aberdeen Plc's insurance unit.
Jim Cooney, who is the head of Americas, as well as James Fleming and Sam Losada, the co-heads of ECM for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, will report to Murphy, according to the memo. Chris Gammons will continue to lead ECM in the Asia-Pacific region, it said.
