Apple's Apple Intelligence AI can now scan the Messages app to weed out spam from a user's inbox. Messages from unknown numbers will also be moved to a separate folder. The app will also display time sensitive messages, like reservations identifying them as separate from spam.

Apple announced a new Phone app that merges recent calls, voicemails and favourites in a single view. The company is adding its own call-screening to help weed out spam calls and spammers, where users identify themselves and their reasons for calling so users know whether to pickup or ignore their calls.

The app also has 'Hold Assist', where the phone can automatically detect hold music and keep the call on hold while the users can go about their lives until Apple alerts them that the call has been picked up by a live agent.

Carplay enables users to use their i-Phones as they drive. New visual features include icons that adapt to light and dark mode. The new OS also features widgets and live activities. Developers who developed features for the same for iPhone can bring them to Carplay.

According to Bloomberg reports, Apple's researchers released a new paper ahead of WWDC 2025, criticially evaluating the capabilites of 'advanced reasoning' AI models which found that the models faced “complete accuracy collapse", when a problem posed to them reached a certain level of complexity.

The AI models considered were from Open AI, Google and Anthropic.
