Stock Market Live News: Nifty Ends Below 25,100, Sensex Sheds Over 240 Points As IT Drags
At the close of trading, benchmark indices underperformed broader market indices. The Nifty 50 ended 0.27% lower at 25,082 while the Sensex ended 247 points lower at 82,253. The Nifty ended lower for the fourth consecutive day. Jio Financial Services and Tech Mahindra were the top losers in the Nifty, with Nifty IT emerging as the top losing sector for the day. Within the Nifty IT sector, Tech Mahindra and LTTS were the biggest decliners.
Conversely, Nifty Realty and Nifty Media sectors both gained more than 1% for the day. The Nifty Midcap 150 snapped a six-day losing streak, while the Nifty Smallcap 250 ended a two-day losing streak.
Sector-wise, Nifty Media and PSU Banks snapped their five-day losing streaks. Nifty Pharma gained for the second consecutive day, and Nifty Auto broke its two-day losing streak. Nifty Financial Services fell for the third consecutive day, and Nifty IT continued its decline for the fourth day.

India's wholesale price inflation during last month eased to the lowest since October 2023, data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry showed on Monday.
Commodities across the board saw a fall in wholesale prices. While wholesale inflation in primary articles—especially food—led the decline, prices of manufactured products too rose at a slower pace, along with a fall in fuel and power.

Ola Electric's consolidated financial performance in Q1 saw a significant decline year-over-year. Revenue decreased by 49.6% to Rs 828 crore, down from Rs 1,644 crore in the same period last year.
The net loss increased to Rs 428 crore from Rs 347 crore. Further, inventory saw a spike, rising to Rs 153 crore from Rs 12 crore a year ago.
Stock Market Live News: Jane Street Deposits Rs 4,800 Crore In Escrow
Wall Street high frequency trader Jane Street has deposited the mandated Rs 4843.50 crore in an escrow account in favour of SEBI, the markets regulator confirmed on Monday.
The market regulator had earlier had come with an interim order on July 3, 2025, that barred the Wall Street firm from trading in the Indian market till it deposits the Rs 4,843.5 crore in an escrow account.
"Jane Street has further requested SEBI that, following the creation of this escrow account in compliance with SEBI directions, certain conditional restrictions imposed under the interim order be lifted and that SEBI issue appropriate directions in this regard. This request is currently under examination by SEBI in accordance with the directions of the interim order," according to SEBI.

Food delivery and quick commerce heavyweight Swiggy has captured fresh attention from Elara Securities, which has initiated coverage on the company with an 'Accumulate' rating and a sum-of-the-parts-based target price Rs 450.
Swiggy’s food delivery arm is showing signs of outpacing its closest rival, Zomato, in terms of gross order value or GOV growth. Elara emphasised that the company has “improved its profitability and recently outpaced Zomato in gross order value growth; sustaining this is key.”
