Fairphone 6 With Repairable Design Launched: Check Price And Specifications

Fairphone has launched its latest repairable smartphone, the Fairphone 6, in select markets globally. The phone succeeds the Fairphone 5 and comes with a lighter and more modular design.

The company claims the latest device has been created “from more recycled and fair materials than ever before."

The Fairphone 6 is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs on Android 15. The phone will receive eight years of software updates and comes with a five-year warranty. 

An interesting software feature is 'Fairphone Moments', which can be turned on with a switch on the side of the phone.  According to the official website, “It’s more than a focus mode: your entire interface transforms into a minimalist, mindful experience designed to help you stay present.”

The phone has a 6.31-inch full-HD (1,116 × 2,484 pixels) LTPO pOLED display with 431 ppi pixel density. It has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. 

The device is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. It has 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The storage can be increased up to 2 TB with a microSD card. 

On the rear, it has a 50 MP Sony Lytia 700C camera and a 13 MP ultrawide camera. For selfies and video calling, it has a 32 MP camera on the front. It is important to note that the Fairphone 5 has 50 MP sensors on all its cameras. 

The gadget is equipped with a 4,415 mAh removable lithium-ion battery with support for 30 W wired charging. Once fully charged, the battery can provide over 12 hours of web browsing. 

The company claims the device is 100% e-waste neutral and is a climate-conscious product. Swappable accessories include a card holder, a lanyard, a flip case and a protective case. 

It is available in three colour options: Cloud White, Forest Green, and Horizon Black.

The phone is available in Europe for €599 (around Rs 60,000). The /e/OS model with “deGoogled” Android comes at €649 (nearly Rs 65,000).
