  • Nifty and Sensex end lower on Wednesday with the latter extending its loss for the third day.

  • Intraday, both Nifty and Sensex had fallen nearly 0.70%.

  • On the other hand, Infosys, TCS, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel and HCL Tech were the worst performers of the Nifty 50 index.

Infosys Share Price Update: Large Trade In Stock

Over 1.6 million shares of Infosys were traded via a block deal on Wednesday. The share of Infosys fell as much as 4.53% to Rs 1,586.35 apiece.

RBI Seeks Compliance Reports From Banks On Foreign Currency Borrowings

Senior supervisory managers of Reserve Bank of India are seeking compliance reports from all major banks on their foreign currency borrowings.

According to two people in the know, supervisors are seeking specific compliance reports, with details on how the foreign currency borrowings are held on bank books, how much has been converted to rupees and what their hedged position currently looks like.

While banks are expected to submit such compliance reports on a quarterly basis, RBI supervisors are seeking reports on the current position, out of turn.

Queries mailed to RBI were not immediately responded to.

Stock Market Live: Adani Green's Two Bonds Get 'Overweight' Upgrade From JPMorgan

Two restricted group bonds of Adani Green Energy Ltd. received an 'overweight' upgrade from JPMorgan, as the US-based investment banker sees "green shoots", according to a note issued on Wednesday.

The rating has been raised for Adani Renewable Energy RJ Ltd. bond maturing in 2039; and Adani Green Energy bond maturing in 2042. Before this upgrade, the two bonds were rated as neutral.

Stock Market Live: SEBI’s Ananth Narayan Says AIF Governance Issues Resolved, Urges India Inc. To Take Big Risks

The issues between the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) industry and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) that existed as recently as two years ago have now been resolved, said the regulator's Whole Time Member Ananth Narayan G at a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) event on Tuesday.

“We did have our share of issues with sections of this industry two years ago, when we found some AIFs being structured to circumvent financial sector regulations. The good news is that stakeholders, associations such as IVCA, and SEBI have worked since then to ensure these errors are plugged,” he said.

Highly Tracked Stocks At Up To 38% Discount To Target Prices: Here's Why

Only a fraction listed Indian companies have 10 analysts or more tracking them. Moreover, one out of three of these highly tracked stocks are trading at a discount of as much as 38% from their lowest target prices. Top names on the list have attracted analysts with their strong business prospects, but there are growth concerns pushing the stocks lower in a troubled market.

As per research by NDTV Profit, out of the 5,608 companies listed on Indian stock exchanges, only 309 stocks are being actively tracked by more than 10 analysts. However, 101 of these companies are currently trading below the lowest target prices assigned to them.

IndusInd Bank Clarification Leaves Too Many Questions Unanswered

Private sector lender IndusInd Bank's efforts to explain away its Rs 1,520 crore hit on the balance sheet owing to "discrepancies" in its derivatives book have muddled an already complex accounting issue.

On Monday evening, IndusInd Bank explained that the so-called discrepancies were discovered somewhere around October 2024. After that, the bank conducted an internal review, appointed an external agency to verify its review, and informed the banking regulator about it. The public disclosures only happened this week, though.
