MRF Dividend: India's Highest-Priced Stock To Go Ex-Trade On This Day—When Should You Buy?

MRF has fixed the record date for its final dividend on July 18, 2025, before which D-Street investors must own the share to be eligible for the payout.

MRF Ltd. announced that the record date for the payment of final dividend for fiscal 2025 is fixed as July 18, 2025. The date of payment of MRF's final dividend is on or after Aug. 18, 2025.

The company's annual general meeting will take place on Aug. 7, 2025, India's largest tyre manufacturer said in its latest exchange filing.

"The 64th Annual General Meeting of the company will be held on Thursday; August 7, 2025 "through Video Conferencing/Other Audio Visual Means in accordance with the relevant circulars issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Securities and Exchange Board of India," said MRF in its latest exchange filing.

MRF Dividend

MRF had announced a final dividend of Rs 229 per share of Rs 10 each, amounting to a payout of 2,290%, while announcing the January-March quarter results for FY25 in May. MRF has already declared and paid two interim dividends of Rs 3 (30%) each per share for the financial year ended March 31, 2025. The total dividend for FY25 works out to Rs 235 per share of Rs 10 each, amounting to a payout of 2,350%.

When Should You Buy MRF Stock?

D-Street investors looking to reap the benefit of MRF's dividend payout must purchase their shares at least one day prior to the record date for their names to appear on the shareholders' list. To be eligible for a dividend, investors must hold shares as of the record date announced by any particular company.

Given the T+1 settlement cycle, investors need to purchase the stock at least one trading day before the record date to be eligible. Buying shares on the record date itself will not qualify, as the ownership will not be reflected in time.

Therefore, investors who own the shares before July 18 will be able to seek the benefits of the dividend. Shareholders who wish to be eligible for the final dividend of Rs 229 must own MRF shares before the specified ex-dividend date.

MRF Share Price Movement

India's highest-priced stock is currently trading nearly 40% higher from its 2025-low of Rs 10,26,590.42 apiece—hit on March 4, 2025. On Friday, the stock opened trading at Rs 1,45,885 apiece and is currently 0.75% down intraday to Rs 1,46,000. The benchmark NSE Nifty 50 was flat.

The stock has rallied 27% in three months and over 10% year-to-date. MRF Tyres has delivered multibagger returns worth 100% in the last three years and 117% in five years. The Chennai-based company commands a market cap of Rs 60,936.74 crore.
