The National Stock Exchanges Ltd. revised monthly expiry day for the NSE Nifty Bank, Nifty Finserve, Nifty Midcap and Nifty Next 50 indices, the bourse said on Friday. There's no change in expiry day for Nifty 50's monthly, weekly, quarterly & half yearly contracts.
For the Nifty Bank, the expiry day of monthly and quarterly contracts is now last Wednesday of the expiry month. The Nifty Finserve's monthly contract expiry is on Tuesday, and for the Nifty Midcap, the expiry day is last Monday. The Nifty Next 50's monthly contracts will expire on last Friday, NSE said.
The new circular will take effect from Jan 1, 2025. The revised dates of all existing index derivatives contracts will be available in the file, which will be generated in the first day of the new year, and applicable for trading from Jan 2, NSE said.
There is no other change in the contract specifications of index derivatives, NSE said. Clearing Corp will intimate the settlement schedule separately.
"Members are advised to take the updated contract.gz, spd_contract.gz, MII - Contract.gz and MII - spd contract.gz file available on extranet path faoftp/faocommon before trading on January 02,2025," NSE said.
NSE's revision of expiry dates for index derivatives contracts came a day after BSE Ltd. shifted its expiry date for the benchmark Sensex index, Bankex, and Sensex 50 index.
The new expiry day for BSE's index derivative contracts will come in to effect from Jan 1, 2025.
