Allcargo Gati Ltd., a logistics and supply-chain management company, reported volume growth in December. The total cargo volume, including surface and air express, stood at 113 kilotonnes, marking a 7.6% increase year-on-year from 105 kt in December 2023, and 102 kt in November 2024.
In recent updates, Ravi Jakhar, the chief strategy officer of Allcargo Group, had announced that the company's express business is poised for double-digit growth and an increase in market share following the recent restructuring of several divisions.
Last year, Allcargo Group revealed plans to restructure its Allcargo Logistics and Allcargo Gati businesses. As part of this, the international supply chain unit was demerged into a separate entity called Allcargo ECU Ltd.
Speaking to NDTV Profit, Jakhar emphasised that the restructuring would allow the express business to gain a stronger foothold in the market.
In the September quarter, Allcargo Gati's revenue stood at Rs 426.4 crore, a decline of 3.4% compared to Rs 441.5 crore year-on-year. Net loss narrowed to Rs 1.3 crore, an improvement from the Rs 3.79-crore loss in the same period last year. Ebitda surged 20% to Rs 17.9 crore from Rs 14.9 crore, with the margin expanding to 4.2% from 3.4%.
Meanwhile, Allcargo Logistics, the parent company, showed robust growth in the same quarter.
Net sales were at Rs 689.8 crore, up 79% from Rs 384.43 crore year-on-year. Net profit jumped 161% to Rs 36.99 crore, compared to Rs 14.17 crore in the previous year. Ebitda improved 28% to Rs 30.66 crore from Rs 23.95 crore.

Shares of Allcargo Gati closed 1.95% higher at Rs 76.50 apiece on the NSE, compared to a 0.39% gain in the benchmark Nifty.
