Maharashtra Has Strengthened Resolve For Viksit Bharat: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the people have reiterated their faith in the BJP. Maharashtra has strengthened its resolve for a Viksit Bharat. The results show that the country is only yearning for development, he said.

"This is the third time that the BJP-led alliance has won...the third time that BJP has emerged as the biggest party in Maharashtra...this is definitely historic. This is a reflection of the BJP's governance model," Modi said, NDTV reported.

After Haryana, Maharashtra has sent a message of 'Ek Hain Toh Safe Hain'. This has becomes a "mahamantra for the country", PM Modi told BJP workers.

The prime minister went on to say that the Opposition is not able to understand the changed mood of the country. "These people not only do not want to accept the truth, they even today underestimate the discretion of the common voter of India," he said.

The voters of the country are with the idea of 'Nation First'. The voters of the country do not like those who dream of the 'chair first', Modi said.

'Victory Of Development, Good Governance...': PM Modi On Mahayuti Win

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, to address party workers after the Mahayuti alliance's landslide win in the Maharashtra assembly elections.

"It is the victory of development, good governance and social justice in Maharashtra, and it is the defeat of negative politics and dynastic politics," the prime minister said, PTI reported.

Maharashtra has broken all records, it is the biggest win for any party or pre-poll alliance in last 50 years, Modi said.

He also hailed Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP leader and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar for the victory.

'Jharkhand Has Won': CM Hemant Soren Claims Victory

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed gratitude as the JMM-lead alliance led majority in the state assembly elections.

"Jharkhand has won…Heartfelt gratitude and johar to the people of Jharkhand! Today, on this historic occasion, many congratulations, best wishes and johar to all the citizens of the state," he wrote on X.

The I.N.D.I.A bloc was leading with 56 out of 81 seats secured as of 7:37 p.m., NDTV reported. The BJP-led NDA had won 24 seats.

Rahul Gandhi On I.N.D.I.A Win In Jharkhand Assembly

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the I.N.D.I.A bloc's win in Jharkhand assembly elections is victory for protection of water, forest and land, along with that of constitution, PTI reported.

Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge also spoke about the win. "We have to fight for social justice, raise voice of people and form accountable government in Jharkhand," he said.

On the loss in Maharashtra, Gandhi said that the results were unexpected and that the party will analyse the outcome in detail.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the people of Maharashtra have once again expressed their trust in the Mahayuti's legacy, development, and welfare of the poor by rejecting the politics of appeasement.

BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, in a post on social media, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "unwavering support and trust" have made them win in the assembly election. "The vision for a prosperous and developed future of Maharashtra is now set to move forward with full momentum," he said.

"Our victory today makes our shoulders heavy with the huge responsibilities the people of Maharashtra have bestowed upon us for the next 5 years. We shall spend every moment working to fulfil their aspirations. We shall not spend a single moment speaking against anyone, we will speak only and only for the development of Maharashtra and the welfare of its people," NCP chief Ajit Pawar posted on X.

'Cannot Believe': Uddhav Thackeray On Poll Debacle

"Cannot believe Maharashtra, which listened to me as head of family during COVID, will behave with me this way," Shiv Sena UBT president and former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. His party, as per the Election Commission trends, was poised to win in only 20 out of the 95 seats it contested.

Jharkhand Elections: Basant Soren Wins Dumka Seat

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's brother Basant Soren has won the Dumka assembly seat with 95,685 votes, PTI reported.

He was up against BJP candidate Sunil Soren who secured 81,097 seats. JMM candidate Basant Soren won by a margin of 14,588 seats on Saturday.

NDA's Maharashtra Win To Bring Some Undercurrents Back In Markets: Motilal Oswal

The staggering victory of NDA in Maharashtra should bring some undercurrent back in the markets, according to Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. This could start a mini-risk-on rally, it said.

Maharashtra was characterised by political instability in the last five years. With this verdict, the chronic instability is over in one of the most industrialised and economically the most important state of India, Motilal Oswal said.

"With BJP alone at 125+ seats (145 is the majority mark), it will bring stability to the governance and renewed focus on infra development," the brokerage said.

Maharashtra Elections: PM Modi On Mahayuti Lead

Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of Maharashtra for a historic mandate to the NDA, as the Mahayuti alliance took the lead in the state assembly elections on Saturday.

"Development wins! Good governance wins! United we will soar even higher!" he said in a post on X.

Eknath Shinde On Mahayuti Lead

As the Mahayuti grouping took major lead in the Maharashtra assembly elections, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a press conference at Varsha Bungalow, the CM's official residence, in Mumbai.

More than winning votes, it matters we have won the trust of the people, Shinde said.

Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar, Devendra Fadnavis and other Mahayuti leaders were also present at the press conference.

"This is a landslide victory for us...Once the counting gets completed, the three parties will sit together (to decide the CM). We don't have any difference of opinion among us," Shinde said, PTI reported.

Shinde praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he gave strong backing to the state government's policies. Maharashtra received huge support from the centre in leading the state towards development, the Shiv Sena leader said.

People came together and showed the power of unity, Shinde said as he went on to call it a historic day for Maharashtra.

Jharkhand Election Result Live: Numbers In favour Of I.N.D.I.A. Bloc

As of 04:00 p.m. the I.N.D.I.A bloc was leading with 55 seats out of total 81 seats in the Jharkhand assembly and NDA was trailing with 25 seats, The I.N.D.I.A. bloc was trailing in early trends, but recovered as counting ripened. It crossed the majority mark before early noon, NDTV reported.

Maharashtra Assembly Election Result 2024

Maharashtra election results will be out on Saturday after voting for all the 288 assembly seats concluded on Nov. 20, with a record voter turnout. The final turnout in Maharashtra polls was 66.05% as per EVM votes, up from 61.1% in 2019, Election Commission officials said on Thursday. The vote counting will commence at 8 a.m.

The results of the Jharkhand Assembly Elections will be announced on Saturday, November 23. Voting for the state's 81 seats was conducted in two phases, on November 13 and 20. The main contest is between the ruling JMM-led INDIA alliance and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). On the same day, results will also be declared for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections and by-polls in 14 other states. The vote counting will commence at 8 a.m., and by the afternoon, the next government in Jharkhand will be known.
