Royal Enfield is firing on all cylinders—both one and two—as demand for its best-selling 350 cc motorcycles returned.

Total sales of India’s largest middleweight motorcycle maker rose 25% year-on-year to 79,466 units in December 2024, according to an exchange filing on Thursday. The company had sold 63,387 units in the year-ago period.

That growth was driven by a return in demand for its bread-and-butter 350 cc motorcycles, whose sales rose by a fourth to 69,476 units last month as against 55,401 units in the year-ago period, as per the filing.

The premium segment—450 cc and 650 cc—performed equally well. Sales of Himalayan 450 and Interceptor 650 range of motorcycles rose 25% to 9,990 units in December 2024 as against 7,986 units in the year-ago period.

What stood out, however, were exports.

The company nearly doubled its overseas shipments to 11,575 units in December 2024 from 6,096 units in the year-ago period, the filing showed. That was primarily on the back of sales of the 450 cc and 650 cc motorcycles.

“We have launched some category-defining motorcycles throughout the year, and it is encouraging to see the response to our recently launched motorcycles both in India and international markets,” B Govindarajan, chief executive officer at Royal Enfield, said in the exchange filing.

“As we gear up for 2025, we are looking forward to sustaining our growth momentum and continue inspiring our riding community across the globe with Pure Motorcycling initiatives across the board.”
