Telegram Founder and Chief Executive Officer Pavel Durov on Wednesday announced that the social media platform and and Elon Musk's xAI have agreed to an one-year partnership to distribute Grok to Telegram's over one billion users and integrate in into its apps.
Durov further shared on X profile that Telegram will receive $300 million in cash and equity from xAI. He added that Telegram will also receive 50% of revenue from xAI subscriptions sold via Telegram.
Musk's Grok, an AI chatbot developed by xAI—a company founded by Elon Musk in 2023—was created as an alternative to mainstream models like ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.
Post its launch, Grok AI expanded its wings to other social media platforms, after Musk joined hands with Telegram to integrate the chatbot on March 27, 2025.
Previously, users could only interact with the chatbot on either X (formerly known as Twitter) or the Grok app. But sinch March 27, Telegram users have also been able to chat with it.
