Samsung unveiled new additions to the Galaxy smartphone family on Jan. 22: Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Apart from a host of upgrades to hardware and specifications, these devices stand out for their highly advanced artificial intelligence features and personalised information and searches, powered by Galaxy AI and supported by personal data engine and knowledge graphs of users.
New AI features that incorporate multimodal capabilities and agentic AI into the Galaxy S25 series took the spotlight at the event. According to Samsung, the S25 devices can interpret text, speech, photos, and videos for more natural interactions thanks to AI agents.
AI agents can help users do a host of things. For example, a user can request Google Gemini to find a pet-friendly Italian restaurant and forward that information to a friend. After identifying restaurant options, Gemini generates a message that the user can send with a tap of a button.
Here’s a look at the new Samsung Galaxy S25 AI features and capabilities including Now Brief, Audio Eraser, Agentic AI, Call Transcript, Music Search, and more.
Samsung Galaxy S25 AI: Now Brief
The Now Brief feature provides instant access to information based on the time of day. This includes a Morning Brief, which could include weather and the user’s energy score, and Evening Brief, featuring the day’s “memorable moments” and the achievement of a user’s daily activity goals. It also offers a schedule of events for the day and a commute brief that automatically starts music and navigation.
Samsung Galaxy S25 AI: Google’s Circle To Search Update
Upgrades to Google’s Circle to Search feature make searching the S25 phone screen more helpful, fast and contextual. Circle to Search can now quickly recognise phone numbers, email and URLs on the screen, allowing users to call, email or visit a website with a single tap.
Samsung Galaxy S25 AI: Audio Eraser
The Audio Eraser helps focus on a particular audio (for example, a person playing a piano) and eliminating unwanted noise. Galaxy AI can identify and separate sounds from a variety of sources, including voices, music, wind, nature, crowd and noise, in Audio Eraser. Users can then manually adjust and regulate the volume to get the desired output.
Samsung Galaxy S25 AI: Call Transcript
Galaxy S25 enables calls to be more organised with Call Transcript and Summary feature. The Summary feature allows automatic transcription of recorded calls when a certain number of characters is met and is under the character limit. Samsung said that Call recording may not be supported in some countries and is currently available on pre-installed Samsung phones and Voice Record app. Also, certain languages may require language pack download.
Samsung Galaxy S25 AI: YouTube Notes
The content of a YouTube video will be summarised in writing in these notes and subsequently added to the Samsung Notes app. For instance, when a user asks, “Hey Google Gemini, list the places mentioned in this video and save a Note,” the Samsung Galaxy S25 summarises YouTube videos and generates a new note with the information.
Samsung Galaxy S25 AI: Music Search
Circle to Search with Google now also enables music searches. Pressing and holding will identify a song a Galaxy S25 user is hearing and then give them song and artist(s) name
Samsung Galaxy S25 AI: Drawing Assist
Drawing Assist helps users bring new ideas to life through combinations of sketches, text or image prompts. A watermark is overlaid on the image upon saving to indicate that the image is generated by AI.
Calendar, Notes And Reminders
Google Gemini-powered Calendar, Notes, Reminder and Clock allow for a more efficient workflow by automating the creation, editing, and reminder of tasks according to user preferences.
