Samsung April Update For Galaxy S25 Series Comes With New Features — Check Details

Smartphone maker Samsung is introducing fresh updates to its flagship Galaxy S25 series, with a focus on enhancing camera and software performance. The rollout has begun this week, days after the company abruptly halted the One UI 7 update for older models.

The April update introduced by Samsung in Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra models currently appears to be limited to the Korean region. According to Android Central, the update carries the build number S938NKSU2AYD9.

Last week, Samsung started rolling out the much-delayed UI 7 update in Korea, but soon stopped it without giving any concrete reason. However, some media outlets claimed the move was possibly due to the discovery of a security flaw in the update.

The main highlights of the April update include enhanced camera, charging and software upgrades. Android Central also noted a noticeable change in the media widget notification within the status bar.

Now Bar Pill: Introduced with One UI 7 for select apps. It appears on the lock screen alongside the status bar for quick access.

Media Widget Notification: Being added with the latest update for the Galaxy S25 series. It was previously missing on the flagship trio, despite being available on older Galaxy models with the recent One UI 7 update.

Pill-Shaped Play Button: It shows up in the notification shade, next to the time. It can also be accessed in the notifications pane. Tapping it brings up expanded playback controls for easier media control directly from the home screen.

Samsung is expected to introduce the rollout beyond South Korea soon. The new updates can be downloaded on the Galaxy S25 series by going to phone Settings> Software update> and clicking Download and Install to check for the latest update.

Meanwhile, Samsung will soon resume rollout of the One UI7 update for Galaxy S24 and older versions. The company said it would announce a fresh schedule once the update is optimised for enhanced user experience.
