GTA 6 Price To Hit $80 To $100-Mark? Grand Theft Auto Launch Coming Soon

Gamers are very excited about the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, widely called GTA 6, which is expected to happen in the Fall of 2025. Yes, after a decade and more of suspense, GTA 6 launch is on this year's horizon. The current hot topics among fans are pre-booking and release date and time. However, surpassing all else is the excitement around GTA 6 price. It really is the centre of attraction especially after some analysts had indicated it will be extremely costly to buy.

So, could GTA 6 price break the $70 barrier - the usual price for the game? There are various rumours regarding the prices climbing up to $80 or even jumping to $100. However, an expert has reacted very strongly about this suggestion.

Notably, IGN has spoken to several analysts who believe that Rockstar will surely stick to the standard $70 price point for the base version of GTA 6. However, some publishers may well charge over $100 for early access or special collectables. IGN revealed that some analysts believe that prices set up that high will actually be counterproductive. 

IGN quoted Rhys Elliott from MIDiA as saying that premium prices are usually marked as additional perks. “Charging $100 for the base game alone would be a ‘Bridge Too Far,’ even for GTA 6,” he said. 

While the game could justify such a price point due to its significance in the minds of its hardcore fandom, Elliott warned that a backlash could cause long-term damage.

The biggest challenge for Rockstar will be encouraging players to shift from the popular online game of GTA 5 , Elliott said. Keeping the price bar too high could discourage this shift and that will hurt the online component’s profitability which is historically a major revenue source for the franchise.

If what this analyst is saying comes true and GTA 6 price is pegged at $70 or thereabouts, it will come as a big relief for fans who have been anticipating a big hike in rates.
