GTA 6 price has been hinted at ahead of launch by a Wedbush expert and it is at a range that you will not like at all. Yes, GTA 6 price hike coming vis a vis GTA 5. In fact, GTA 6 could set a new benchmark for video game pricing. And in the meanwhile, excitement is continuing to build for the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games' next blockbuster title.

Parent company Take-Two Interactive has said that GTA 6 remains on schedule for an autumn 2025 launch. But with another major Take-Two title, Borderlands 4, set to arrive around the same time, a September 2025 release seems unlikely. Instead, an October or November 2025 launch appears more realistic.

GTA 6 Price Set To Make It One Of The Most Expensive Video Games?

According to a report in Ladbible, an industry analyst suggests that GTA 6 may come with a huge price tag. GTA 6 price is likely to reach as high as $100 (around Rs 8,700) for the standard edition, Michael Pachter, managing director of equity research at Wedbush Securities. GTA 6 price that fans are expecting is just a bit upwards of $70.

Pachter believes Take-Two could follow a strategy similar to what Activision did when it integrated Call of Duty Warzone and Call of Duty Mobile with its annual Call of Duty releases. "In Activision's case, the integration led to a 40 per cent increase in sales of Call of Duty premium. In Take-Two's case, we think a successful integration of GTA Online and GTA VI can lead to a $100 price point for the premium game," he said.

Take-Two has a track record of leading the industry in price hikes. In 2020, it was the first major publisher to price a next-generation game, NBA 2K21, at $70 (around Rs 6,000), setting a new standard that many companies later adopted, much to their delight.

Would Higher GTA 6 Price Benefit The Gaming Industry?

Some experts say that a GTA 6 price tag of $100 may not be such a bad thing.

Venture capitalist and gaming analyst Matthew Ball said that raising the standard price of blockbuster games could help stabilise the industry, reducing mass layoffs and ensuring sustainable development, the media outlet added.

Will Fans Accept A $100 GTA 6 Price Tag?

Not everyone is convinced that Rockstar would take such a step. Fans on Reddit have expressed concern that such a high price could limit the Grand Theft Auto game's accessibility.

“GTA 6 will cost 70 bucks, and Rockstar will spend the next decade making billions off GTA 6 Online,” one user said, according to Ladbible.

With speculation that GTA 6 may adopt a model similar to Fortnite, allowing user-generated content, setting a steep entry price could alienate many players.
