Rockstar Games was expected to drop some fresh updates on GTA 6 for Grand Theft Auto fans on February 6. The timing made sense — Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, was set to go public with the latest quarterly earnings, leaving the door open for an official announcement of the game this year at a specific date.

Rockstar revealed the first GTA 6 trailer back in November 2023 before an earnings call, so fans were hopeful for something similar. That said, fans weren’t pleased when Rockstar’s latest social media post focused more on GTA Online than on GTA 6 launch date news.

GTA fans took to social media to express their disappointment. The mood was summarized by X user @billsyliamgta, who said, "Never mind guys, we’re cooked." Another fan, '@SynthPotato' sarcastically reminded Rockstar about its upcoming game:

"You guys do remember you have a new game that's supposed to be launching in ~7 months? Right??? RIGHT???"

@GTAVI_Countdown, meanwhile kept Rockstar's focus, asking them to put fans' needs first: 'Focus, Rockstar.' "This isn't what the folks are waiting for."

Since the release of GTA 6’s first trailer in December 2023, GTA fans haven’t seen much and some are worried about a delay. Their concern is not groundless as Rockstar had, over the years, delayed quite a few releases .

But Rockstar hasn’t yet commented on any changes to GTA 6’s release schedule.
