Amitabh Bachchan Sells Duplex Apartment In Mumbai's Oshiwara For Rs 83 Crore

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has sold one of his apartments in Mumbai's Oshiwara this month for Rs 83 crore, according to the property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards.

The duplex property is among several apartments in the luxury residential project of The Atlantis in the Oshiwara locality.

The premium property is spread over a built-up area of 529.94 square metres, or about 5,704 square feet. The apartment's carpet area adds up to 481.75 square metres or 5,185.62 square feet, as per Square Yards.

The real estate platform, which reviewed the registration documents of the property on the website of the Inspector General of Registration, stated in its press release that the transaction was conducted in January 2025. The transaction's stamp duty totalled Rs 4.98 crore, while registration charges incurred were Rs 30,000.

The identity of the property's buyer was not mentioned in the release issued by Square Yards.

Oshiwara, located in western Mumbai area, is a bustling neighbourhood. The place is known for its vibrant lifestyle and strategic location near the Lokhandwala Complex.

The location is well-connected by roads and the Mumbai Metro, and combines urban convenience and modern living.

The property sold by Bachchan was purchased by him in April 2021 for Rs 31 crore, according to Square Yards. And, when the sale price of Rs 83 crore is taken into account, the deal reflects a 168% appreciation in the property's value.

The documents also revealed that earlier, in November 2021, this apartment was given on lease to actress Kriti Sanon for a monthly rent of Rs 10 lakh and security deposit of Rs 60 lakh.
