BMC Elections 2026: Parties And Their Line-Up
Even as Mahayuti allies, the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, have joined forces for the BMC elections, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) has aligned with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) under Raj Thackeray, framing the partnership around the protection of Marathi language and culture.
The Congress, meanwhile, is contesting the BMC polls in alliance with Prakash Ambedkar’s Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. The Nationalist Congress Party has opted to fight the elections on its own, breaking from the Mahayuti arrangement at the state level.
