At noon the benchmark indices were trading marginally higher. Nifty 50 was up 0.07% at 24,767 and Sensex was up 0.03% at 81,339.
RBI Annual Report: At GDP Growth Of 6.5%, India To Remain Fastest Growing Major Economy In FY26
The Indian economy is poised to sustain its position as the fastest growing major economy during 2025-26, supported by pickup in private consumption, healthy balance sheets of banks and corporates, easing financial conditions and the government’s continued thrust on capital expenditure, the RBI said in its annual report.
The easing of supply chain pressures, softening of global commodity prices and higher agricultural production on the back of a likely above-normal south-west monsoon augur well for the inflation outlook in 2025-26, it said. Financial markets may exhibit sporadic episodes of volatility triggered by turbulent global financial markets in the wake of heightened uncertainty regarding the evolution of trade tariff policies, among others.
Sensex, Nifty Today: Stock Market Watch 12 PM
Indian equities were trading lower after opening in the green. Nifty fell nearly 0.06% at 24,738.60 and Sensex fell over 25.22 points at 81287 as of 12 p.m.
Intraday, both Nifty and Sensex fell rose nearly 0.60% before it fell.
Nifty fell 0.18% to 24,708.65.
Sensex was fell 0.12% to 81,212.79.
Broader indices were trading higher. Nifty Midcap 150 rose 0.25%; Nifty Smallcap 250 was trading 0.32% higher.
Most sectoral indices rose, led by Nifty Realty and Nifty IT.
Nifty Bank fell 0.41%, Nifty IT was up 0.69%.
Infosys, Sun Pharma, Eternal, Bharti Airtel and Trent were top Nifty gainers.
HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, ITC, Bajaj Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank were top Nifty losers.

Mazagon Dock's share price rose as much as 2.35% to Rs 3,750 apiece, the highest level ever. It pared gains to trade 1.20% higher at Rs 3,707 apiece, as of 11:00 a.m. This compares to a 0.16% decline in the NSE Nifty 50.
The stock has risen 66.42% on a year-to-date basis, and 119.91% in the last 12 months. Total traded volume so far in the day stood at times its 30-day average. The relative strength index was at 57.81.
Stock Market Live: RBI Balance Sheet Expands 8.2% To Rs 76.25 Lakh Crore In FY25, Says Annual Report
The Reserve Bank of India said on Thursday that its balance sheet rose 8.2% year-on-year to Rs 76.25 lakh crore as of March 31.
The increase on the assets side was led by higher gold holdings, domestic investments, and foreign investments, according to its annual report for the financial year ending March 2025. Domestic assets accounted for 25.73% of the total, while foreign currency assets, gold, and others made up the remaining 74.27%.
On the liabilities side, the expansion was driven by an increase in notes issued, revaluation accounts, and other liabilities.

On Thursday, Nifty IT outperformed the benchmark Nifty 50, driven by positive sentiments from the US market and Nvidia's strong earnings report. While Nifty 50 rose 0.55% intraday, Nifty IT was up by 1.75%.
Among the Nifty IT stocks, LTIMindtree Ltd. led the surge with a 3.48% increase, reaching Rs 5,276.8. Persistent Systems Ltd. followed, with a 2.53% rise to Rs 5,725.

Rupee Vs Dollar Today: Indian Currency Opens Weaker
Rupee opened 14 paise weaker at 85.51 against US Dollar. It closed at 85.37 on Wednesday.

An analysis of the shareholding shows that 73.01% of the company's shareholding is with the promoters and is locked. 26.99% of the remainder is held by the public, including institutions, and net of anchor allotment shares were available for free trade.

Sansera Engineering Q4 Review: Price Target Cut By Nomura As Exports Weaken
Sansera Engineering had its target price reduced from Rs 1,669 to Rs 1,643 per share by Nomura amid possible tailwinds from US trade tariffs. The research firm maintained its 'buy' stance on the company as fourth quarter margins were in line with its estimates.
Ebitda margin was at 16.3%, in line with Nomura's estimate but lower than consensus estimate of 17.2%. Profit After Tax increased 28% on lower interest expense and higher other income.
