US Futures Decline; Weekly Jobless Data In Focus
As of 3:27 p.m., futures contracts of Dow Jones Average and S&P 500 futures were 0.26% and 0.34% down, respectively while Nasdaq 100's contract was 0.41% down.

Nifty, Sensex See Muted Close On Monthly Expiry Day; RIL, HDFC Bank Weigh: Closing Bell
After opening higher, benchmark equity indices of India saw a muted close on the day of 2024's last monthly derivatives contract expiry of the Nifty index. Adani Ports and SEZ contributed the most to the gains while heavyweights HDFC Bank and Reliance dragged.
There were lack of triggers from around the globe as most markets were closed on account Boxing Day holiday.
Nifty ended 0.10% or 22.55 points up at 23750.20 and Sensex ended flat at 78472.48. Intraday, both the indices had risen around 0.5%.
"The bulls are finding it difficult to overcome the immediate hurdle of 23,850," said Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares. 'We need a convincing move on either sides of a well-maintained range of 23,650-23,850."
Share price of Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd., Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., and Maruti Suzuki Ltd. contributed the most to the gains.
Those of HDFC Bank Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., ITC Ltd., Titan Co. Ltd., and Larsen & Toubro weighed the most.
Market breadth was skewed in favour of sellers. Around 2,334 stocks declined, 1,651 stocks advanced, and 88 stocks remained unchanged on BSE.
Broader markets ended on a mixed note. The BSE Midcap ended 0.11% higher, and Smallcap indices ended 0.24% down.
On BSE, 14 sectors ended higher and seven declined out of 21. The BSE FMCG declined the most, and the BSE Services rose the most.

Nuvama On AMFI Recategorisation
Nuvama said post recategorisation AMFI large-cap cut-off is expected to surge to Rs 1 lakh crore from Rs 84,000 crore earlier and AMFI mid-cap cut-off expected to surge to Rs 32,800 crore from Rs 27,500 crore earlier. CG Power, RVNL, ICICI Prudential Indus Towers are expected to move into large-cap from mid-cap segment while Hyundai Motor, Bajaj Housing, NTPC Green & Swiggy expected to be categorised as large-caps.

Benchmark equity indices of India saw a higher open on Thursday as share prices of banks contributed the most to the gains.
At pre-open, the NSE Nifty 50 was 0.20% higher at 23,775.80, and the BSE Sensex was 0.11% higher at 78,560.33.
"The Index (Nifty) is oscillating in a well-maintained range of 23,650-23,850 and a breakout on either sides is necessary for a concrete inference," said Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares.
Share prices of ICICI Bank Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., Axis Bank Ltd., State Bank Of India, and ITC Ltd. contributed the most to the gains.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., HDFC Life Insurance Ltd., Asian Paints Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Ltd., and Shriram Finance Ltd. minimised the upside.
Except Nifty Realty, Media, and Pharma, all sectoral indices opened higher with Nifty PSU Bank leading the gains.
