Purnia Election Results 2025: BJP's Vijay Kumar Khemka Wins, Leads By 33,222 Votes
The BJP has won the Purnia Assembly seat. Vijay Kumar Khemka won the election by 1,27,614 votes, accounting for 54.79% of the total counted so far.
Congress candidate Jitendra Kumar trailed in second place with 94,392 votes, or 40.53%. Santosh Kumar Singh of the JSP has 3,701 votes, while independent candidate Kaneez Fatma has 919.
Purnia Election Results 2025: BJP Extends Lead
The BJP has further strengthened its lead in the Purnia Assembly seat as counting continues. Vijay Kumar Khemka now has 90,354 votes, accounting for 60.04% of the total counted so far.
Congress candidate Jitendra Kumar is in second place with 53,229 votes, or 35.37%. Santosh Kumar Singh of the JSP has 2,792 votes, while independent candidate Kaneez Fatma has 584.
Rajiv Kumar Roy of the BSP has 670 votes, and independent candidate Lakhander Sah has 599. Aditya Lal of the AAP has 512 votes, followed by Aslam Azad with 576. Ajay Swarn has 296 votes. NOTA has recorded 886 votes, or 0.59%.
A total of 1,50,498 valid votes have been counted so far.

Purnia Election Results 2025: BJP Extends Lead to 27,044 Votes
The BJP has further strengthened its lead in the Purnia Assembly seat as counting continues. Vijay Kumar Khemka now has 66,876 votes, accounting for 66.1% of the total counted so far.
Congress candidate Jitendra Kumar is in second place with 39,832 votes, or 39.4%. Santosh Kumar Singh of the JSP has 2,227 votes, while independent candidate Kaneez Fatma has 425.
Rajiv Kumar Roy of the BSP has 403 votes, and independent candidate Lakhander Sah has 350. Aditya Lal of the AAP has 195 votes, followed by Aslam Azad with 173. Ajay Swarn has 142 votes. NOTA has recorded 603 votes, or 0.6%.
A total of 1,01,678 valid votes have been counted so far.

The BJP continues to maintain a significant lead in the Purnia Assembly seat. Vijay Kumar Khemka now has 45,040 votes, accounting for 55.4% of the total counted so far.
Congress candidate Jitendra Kumar is in second place with 32,872 votes, or 40.4%. Santosh Kumar Singh of the JSP has 1,733 votes, while Rajiv Kumar Roy of the BSP has 363.
Independent candidate Kaneez Fatma has 362 votes, and Lakhander Sah has 284. Aditya Lal of the AAP has 277 votes, and Aslam Azad has 228. Ajay Swarn has 134 votes. NOTA has recorded 474 votes, or 0.6%.
A total of 81,293 valid votes have been counted. The BJP leads by 12,168 votes.

Jan Suraaj Bihar president Manoj Bharti on early trends showing NDA’s victory said, “We have been saying from the start that we are trying to bring new politics to Bihar. It is tough to take this politics to the people of Bihar. Prashant Kishor always said if people understood what we were saying, we would be on top; if they didn’t, we would fail. These trends show that people have failed to understand us, and we also failed to make them understand.”

Purnia Election Results 2025: BJP's Vijay Kumar Khemka Further Expands Lead
The BJP has further strengthened its position in the Purnia Assembly seat as counting progresses. Vijay Kumar Khemka now has 17,713 votes, or 63.5%.
Congress candidate Jitendra Kumar is in second place with 8,790 votes, accounting for 31.5%. Santosh Kumar Singh of the JSP has 799 votes, while Rajiv Kumar Roy of the BSP has 167.
Independent candidates Kaneez Fatma and Lakhander Sah have 98 and 89 votes respectively. AAP’s Aditya Lal has 90 votes. Other independents, including Aslam Azad and Ajay Swarn, have 84 and 49 votes. NOTA stands at 156 votes, or 0.6%.
A total of 27,879 valid votes have been counted so far.

The Purnia Assembly seat shows the BJP widening its lead in the latest round of counting. Vijay Kumar Khemka of the BJP now has 9,152 votes, or 63.5%, placing him well ahead of the Congress candidate, Jitendra Kumar, who has 4,533 votes, or 31.5%.
Santosh Kumar Singh of the JSP has 430 votes, while BSP candidate Rajiv Kumar Roy has 96. Independent candidates and nominees from smaller parties have secured between 24 and 46 votes each. AAP’s Aditya Lal has 35 votes. NOTA has registered 78 votes, accounting for 0.5%.
A total of 14,405 valid votes have been counted so far. The BJP leads Purnia by 4,619 votes.

Polling for the Bihar Assembly election took place in two phases, with 121 constituencies voting on Nov. 6, and 122 constituencies voting on Nov. 11, 2025. Munger voted on Nov. 6.
Bihar went to the polls as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sought another term with the Janata Dal (United) as part of the National Democratic Alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The INDIA alliance, the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, which includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress, contested against the NDA across the state.
