Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and the FBI, are actively investigating the situation and will prosecute anyone involved to the fullest extent of the law.
"God Bless the great people of Minnesota, a truly great place!" Trump added.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said that former state House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband were fatally shot in a politically motivated assassination.
Another lawmaker and his wife were also wounded in the attack, and authorities were searching for a suspect in the hours after the targeted killings
The wounded lawmaker was a Senator John Hoffman, a Democrat, elected first in 2012. Earlier, he served as vice chair of the Anoka Hennepin School Board, which manages the largest school district in Minnesota.
