Indian cuisine secured the 12th spot on the Taste Atlas list of 100 Best Cuisines in the World. The popular food and travel guide unveiled its year-end rankings on Wednesday, covering categories such as cuisines, dishes, drinks, food regions, legendary restaurants, and more.
Greek cuisine topped the Taste Atlas Awards 2024-25 list, followed by Italian and Mexican cuisines at second and third places followed by Spanish and Portuguese cuisines.
Gyros, Souvlaki, Moussaka, Greek Salad, Tzatziki and Pastitsio were the top Greek dishes, according to the Taste Atlas website.
The rankings were determined based on 4,77,287 valid ratings for 15,478 foods in the Taste Atlas database, with the cuisines receiving the highest average scores earning their respective positions.

Although Indian cuisine ranked 12th, it received recognition in several other categories under the Taste Atlas Awards 2024-2025.
As part of the same list, Taste Atlas, on its website, highlighted must-try Indian dishes such as Amritsari Kulcha, Butter Garlic Naan, Murgh Makhani, and Hyderabadi Biryani.
The guide also mentioned several renowned restaurants, including Dum Pukht (New Delhi), Glenary's (Darjeeling), Ram Ashraya (Mumbai), and Shree Thaker Bhojanalay (Mumbai), as part of its Iconic Traditional Restaurants category, where visitors could experience the diversity of Indian cuisine.
