Telecom company Vodafone Idea has partnered with HCLSoftware to make its 4G and 5G networks smarter, more efficient, and capable of providing enhanced services. This collaboration aims to leverage advanced technology solutions to improve network performance and satisfy growing customer expectations. The company is now using HCL Augmented Network Automation, a multi-vendor self-optimising network platform, to manage its Ericsson and Samsung networks.

The HCL ANA platform uses artificial intelligence to simplify the management of Vi’s multi-vendor, multi-technology and multi-layered network to improve integration and network operations. The technology has the potential to improve network performance, save energy, and offer better services to its customers.

For Vodafone Idea and its users, this collaboration means streamlined services, continuous improvements, and a stronger relationship with the brand that meets expectations. According to HCLSoftware, the platform has an open architecture and enables Vi to manage and automate its network independently, reducing dependency on OEM-specific features and applications. It helps save energy, reducing costs and making the network more sustainable. Most importantly, Vi customers can experience a faster and more reliable network.

Jagbir Singh, chief technology officer of Vodafone Idea explained what the enhanced services would actually mean. He said “The AI-powered HCL ANA platform will streamline our network operations and provide superior network experience to our customers. It also reflects Vi’s commitment to using advanced, made-in-India technologies to improve services, reduce costs, and prepare for the future of telecom innovation.”

Neeraj Purandare, senior vice president and general manager, ISD Business at HCLSoftware explained what both the organisations were aiming at through the collaboration. He said, “Our goal is to help Vi scale their network smoothly without disruptions. This collaboration will not only benefit Indian telecom users but also boost local technology development and innovation."
