Samsung has shaken up the foldable smartphone space with the launch of its exciting foldable range at the Galaxy Unpacked event today. At the event, Samsung launched the much-anticipated book-style foldable Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Samsung’s new foldable range takes the creaseless display experience up a notch. The crease is almost eliminated in the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, giving the likes of Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold even bigger competition. At the same time, an upgraded hinge promises enhanced durability for the folding mechanism.

The new phones pack a host of Galaxy AI features, including multimodal capabilities, and AI features customised to the foldable form. 

Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Watch 8 series at the event, which comprises the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which promises enhanced performance, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 features an advanced 200MP primary camera along with 10MP selfie shooter with 100-degree field of view. It has an 8-inch main display and 6.5-inch cover display. It measures a mere 4.2 mm in its unfolded state and 8.9 mm when folded, and weighs just 215 gm.

Samsung’s latest clamshell-style foldable, the Z Flip 7 boasts a sleek form, with a 13.7 mm profile when folded and weighs just 188 gm. It features a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display and a massive 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED main display, both with 120Hz refresh rate and 2600 nits peak brightness. It houses a 4,300 mAh battery.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, the latest devices in the Galaxy Watch lineup. They are the thinnest Galaxy watches, with display 50% brighter with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.

Other features include an upgraded battery, dual-frequency GPS, 3nm processor, and BioActive Sensor for more accurate health insights. New health features on Samsung Health app include Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, Antioxidant Index, and Running Coach.

The Watch 8 price starts at $349, and the Watch 8 Classic is priced at $499.

Samsung also launched a new Galaxy Watch Ultra with powerful battery and improved performance. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is available in four titanium finishes, including Titanium Blue and is priced at $649.

Samsung also announced the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, featuring a 6.7-inch main display, 50MP FlexCam for selfies and video, and Now Brief updates on the cover screen, in a layout optimised for Galaxy Z Flip7 FE’s compact form. It is available in black and white colours.
