Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip FE, a more affordable variant of its clamshell-style foldable, is anticipated to make its debut alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 later this year. But when it comes to the chipset under the Galaxy Z Flip FE's hood, there have been varying reports.

According to an earlier report by TechManiacs, the Galaxy Z Flip FE could pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset — Qualcomm's flagship — paired with 12GB RAM. Yet another listing on benchmarking website Geekbench earlier in May suggested the clamshell could house an Exynos 2400 chipset with 8GB RAM and Android 16 operating system.

However, Geekbench now has a purported Galaxy Z Flip FE listed with the model number SM-F766U, and the specs add up to a different processor altogether.

The listing displays a motherboard codenamed "s5e9955" with a 10-core chipset. With a primary CPU core clock speed of 3.30GHz, two cores at 2.75GHz, five cores at 2.36GHz, and two cores at 1.80GHz, the CPU features a 1+2+5+2 architecture. The codename and CPU speeds are similar to those of the Exynos 2500 chipset.

The prototype listed is said to have 12GB RAM and run Android 16. In single-core testing, it scored 2,012 points, while in multi-core testing, it scored 7,563 points.

If the latest Geekbench listing is accurate, the Galaxy Z Flip FE will be the first foldable device from Samsung to sport an Exynos chipset.
