Rockstar Games has announced a freebie for GTA 5 players. The GTA 5 update for PC release date, as announced by Rockstar itself, is due on March 4, 2025, which is tomorrow. With this GTA 5 update, the PC version will catch up to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S enhancements.
What’s New In The New GTA 5 Update For PC?
The GTA 5 update for PC update includes several improvements to graphics, performance, and gameplay:
Enhanced Graphics – Players can now target better lighting and shadows via Ray tracing that comes with ambient occlusion and global illumination.
Performance Upgrades – What is widely expected are faster load times, improved resolution and frame rates, and SSD optimization via DirectStorage.
Advanced Settings – Support for AMD FSR1, FSR3, and NVIDIA DLSS 3 for smoother gameplay.
Audio Enhancements – Dolby Atmos support for immersive sound is all set to hit your PC.
PS5 Controller Support – DualSense users will get haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality.
GTA Online is also getting updates:
Hao’s Special Works – The popular vehicle upgrade shop from consoles is also coming to your PC.
Wildlife Photography Challenge – This isa new side activity featuring ambient animal encounters.
GTA+ Membership – GTA Plus perks and rewards will be accessible to players now.
Will GTA 5 Be On Xbox PC Game Pass?
GTA 5 rumours suggest that it could well end up on the Xbox PC Game Pass. But there is nothing official about it as Rockstar hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Reports say it is near, but everyone will have to wait for the official release date yet.
System Requirements And Crossplay
While the update will need higher system specs, Rockstar promises to continue supporting the original version for lower-end PCs.
However, Crossplay between the upgraded and original versions won’t be available.
Considering the massive nature of the changes implemented, Rockstar is also providing a one-time character migration option. This will make the transition easier for players. These transfers of GTA Online progress will be possible without losing data.
