A huge Google Pixel 10 leak by tipster Mishaal Rahman has revealed some quite exciting new features. Notably, Google is expected to wow the world with the flagship Google Pixel 10 launch. And now, well ahead of the launch expected in August, the first Android 16 developer preview builds and betas have been made available to testers, and Android specialist Mishaal Rahman has been able to manually enable two of the upcoming new Google Pixel 10 features on the current Android 16 Beta 2.1 version.
Here's a closer look at the Google Pixel 10 leak:
Lock Screen Widgets
Google tablets have had lock screen widgets since Android 15, even though phones running the current Google OS don't. Google recently announced in a blog post that lock screen widgets will be accessible on Pixel phones starting with Android 16 QPR1, or the first quarterly update following the introduction of Android 16, and this could be an interesting addition.
Better yet, Google reportedly plans to release it in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), making it available to other Android OEMs if they choose to incorporate the new functionality into their Android interfaces. Of note, some features may yet change before the final version is made public.
Android 16's Multi-Display Capability
Google intends to position Android as an alternative to traditional desktop operating systems like Windows, macOS, or Linux. Android 15, which enables display content to be mirrored externally, is one such example.
Now, Google is reportedly working on Android 16's multi-display capability, and this may make the Google Pixel 10 Pro even more of a substitute to desktops. According to Rahman, users will be able to extend their Google Pixel 10 screen on a second display, in addition to mirroring it.
The External Display page in Settings has reportedly been changed, which will enable users to effortlessly move the cursor between the displays using input devices like a mouse or touchscreen. It will also allow users to adjust the second display’s position with relation to their smartphone. Additionally, Google plans to have distinct settings for text/icon sizes and refresh rates.
The precise release date of these Android feature is still unknown, and Google may include them through the Android 16 feature drop.
The annual Google I/O 2025 conference date is May 21-25
Google Pixel 10 launch date is in August 2025, as per current reports. And in the meanwhile, a Google Pixel 10 leak like this one by Mishaal Rahman provide a sneak peek into what may be coming out.
