iPhone Fold Key Features

The smartphone will reportedly include 2,713 x 1,920 px resolution and a 7.76-inch main display. The panel will get an under-display camera. These cameras have been part of the Z Fold lineup of Apple’s rival Samsung Galaxy since the Z Fold3 model. Apart from that, a punch-hole cutout will be provided at the front for the selfie camera. There are no exact specs available for the rear cameras.

A 5.49-inch cover screen will be part of the foldable iPhones. It will have a resolution of 2,088 x 1,422 px.

Tipster Ming-Chi Kuo has hinted that Apple might use liquid metal for the iPhone Fold hinge to ensure rigidity. The "amorphous alloy" is 2.5 times stronger than titanium, which can make the models more durable. This comes at a time when there is speculation that Apple might shift back to aluminium for the iPhone 17 Pro series. The move is motivated by the tech giant’s desire to make its devices lighter and also achieve its carbon neutrality goals by 2030.

According to reports, Apple will remove the Dynamic Island feature present on the outside screen of its models for its foldable device. The models will not feature Face ID either. Instead, a Touch ID sensor will be integrated into the power button.

This can ensure that the model is efficient in terms of internal space. Large components like Face ID modules can be an issue in terms of designing foldable devices and can be too big for first-generation foldable devices. The Touch ID sensor is also used in iPad mini and iPad Air.
