Google's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, has surfaced in fresh leaks, offering a glimpse into its design and specifications. Notably, the device is expected to maintain a similar look and feel to its predecessor, with only minor size adjustments. The leaks indicate that the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL will measure around 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5mm, marking a negligible variation from 2024’s Pixel 9 Pro XL. In effect, disappointingly, just like Apple with iPhones, Google too is preferring to make just incremental changes and not much else in its latest smartphones.

Google sticks to dual-size flagship-model strategy
Google seems to be continuing its trend of offering both standard and larger-sized flagship models, catering to users with different preferences. While some users prefer a more compact device, the Pixel 10 Pro XL will appeal to those who favour a larger display experience, according to a report in Android Headlines. This dual-size strategy ensures Google’s premium smartphones remain accessible to a broader audience, accommodating varied user needs.

August 2025 launch expected with Android 16
There is some change happening of late though. Google appears to be accelerating its entire release schedule and crowding in ahead or near rivals' launches.
In 2024, the company launched the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold two months ahead of its usual timeline. The same is likely happening with the upcoming Google Pixel 9a. Alongside this, Google has also expedited its Android release schedule, signalling a broader trend of earlier launches.
Now, the Pixel 10 series is likely to follow suit. Much like the Pixel 9 series, which arrived two months ahead of schedule in August 2024, the Pixel 10 lineup is expected to launch in August this year — once again moving up the timeline by two months — while debuting with Android 16.
The report by Android Headlines stated that Google will finalise Android 16 on June 3, ensuring it comes pre-installed on the Pixel 10 series at launch.
In addition, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to launch alongside the rest of the Pixel 10 series.
Details regarding the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s hardware improvements though remain scarce. With an August 2025 launch seemingly on the cards, more information on Google Pixel 10 Pro XL should emerge soon.
