Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants are set to lock horns in their campaign opened in IPL 2025. Rishabh Pant, who led the Delhi team in the last season, will be seen in an LSG jersey this time, after being acquired by the franchise for a record Rs 27 crore bid in the mega auction. On the other hand, LSG's ex-captain KL Rahul will be seen in the Delhi Capitals camp.

DC and LSG have seen a change in leadership, with Axar Patel leading the Delhi team and Rishabh Pant handling the captaincy duties for Lucknow. Both teams will be keen to secure their maiden IPL title under their new skippers this term.

The first encounter between DC and LSG in this season will be held on March 24 at 7:30 p.m.

The two teams will face each other at the Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The venue is the home ground for Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals. 

The two teams have played a total of five matches against each other. DC has emerged victorious in two, while LSG leads with three wins. In their last 2024 encounter, DC secured a victory against LSG, winning by 19 runs.
