Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo inked a new deal with Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr, and will play for it till 2027, according to the updates shared on official social media handles.
Ronaldo had earlier sparked speculations that he was leaving the club after having joined them in 2022. The speculations were triggered by his social media post last month, which said: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all."
He had posted this right after the league tournament had finished, with his team coming in at third place.
However, in a fresh social media post on Thursday, Ronaldo confirmed that he is beginning a "new chapter" with the club.
Al Nassr FC also posted a video of the football player gazing at the water from a beachside property through his sunglasses, as he said, "Al Nasser forever."
Ronaldo managed to win a major trophy while in Al Nassr for three years, which was the Arab Club Champions Trophy 2023, as the team had won the final against its longtime rival Al Hilal with the score of 2-1. The Portuguese striker had scored a goal six times in the tournament, making him the top scorer.
Before joining Al Nassr, Ronaldo left his previous football club, Manchester United, following an interview with media personality Piers Morgan. During the interview, he had expressed dissatisfaction with the team and its manager Erik ten Hag.
