Delhi Mahila Samman Rashi Scheme: Check Eligibility, Requirements And Revised Allowance

The registration process for the Mahila Samman Rashi scheme in Delhi is set to begin on Friday.

The scheme was introduced by the Delhi government during the 2024 budget and an allocation Rs 2,000 crore was made for it. On Thursday, former chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the monthly allowance for the scheme will be increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,100 if the Aam Aadmi Party forms the government in Delhi.

The scheme is likely to benefit around 45 lakh women in Delhi. It aims to uplift women in the capital through the monthly payment.

Who Is Eligible?

The eligibility criteria for the scheme is that the applicant should be a woman above the age of 18 years. The applicant should be a permanent resident of Delhi. The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs 3 lakh.

The criteria also specifies that the applicant should not be benefitting from any other Delhi government scheme. The scheme will also exclude any woman who is a tax-payer or a government employee. Those who are receiving pension from the government will also be excluded from the scheme.

The applicant should also hold a valid Aadhaar card and Voter ID at the time of application, according to the scheme website. The registration that opens today, can be done both offline and online through the Delhi government website.

What Documents Are Required?

A self declaration affidavit is required at the time of registration, stating that the applicant is not receiving benefits from any other Delhi government scheme.

Those who wish to apply should have an Aadhaar card and their Voter ID card. PAN card and bank account details are also required, along with address proof and age proof. Electricity, water bill or ration card can be submitted as address-proof. The applicants are also required to have an income certificate at the time of registration.

Implementation of the scheme will be done by Women and Child Development Ministry. The application will be checked by government authorities and then the financial aid will be provided if the applicant is eligible.
