The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has submitted its preliminary report on the Air India 171 crash to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and other relevant authorities.
This report, based on initial assessments and early findings, is expected to be made public later this week, according to top government officials, NDTV said.
Although the specific details of the report have not been disclosed, it is anticipated to provide crucial insights into the causes of the crash.
On June 12, the Air India flight bound for London from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport crashed just 32 seconds after take-off. Tragically, all 241 people on board, including 10 cabin crew members and two pilots, perished in the accident. Among the victims was former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Remarkably, only one passenger, seated in 11A, survived the disaster.
In the week following the crash, three Air India training pilots on the airline's Boeing 787 fleet conducted simulations in Mumbai to recreate potential scenarios that could have led to the accident. These simulations focused on electrical failures that might cause a dual-engine flame-out, preventing the aircraft from climbing after takeoff. However, these attempts were unsuccessful in replicating the conditions of the crash.
