How should you trade shares of Avenue Supermarts Ltd. after Goldman Sachs' target price cut? Should you buy Dixon Technologies Ltd. and NTPC Green Ltd. at current levels? Till when should you hold Godrej Agrovet Ltd.?
Saurabh Jain, head of equity research at SMC Global Securities and Vaishali Parekh, vice president of technical research at Prabhudas Lilladher Pvt. answer these queries and more.
Avenue Supermarts
Jain: Valuation high.
Jain said Avenue Supermarts was the laggard this year, but even if it has fallen from its highs, valuation still remains on the higher side, "especially in the case of heightened competition". He added that he likes Zepto's discounts. Competition will be tough going forward, and also poses a threat to margins and profitability, he said.
KPIT Technologies
Parekh: Continue holding.
According to Parekh, KPIT is in trending mode and the near-term target resistance can be seen at Rs 1,600 levels. Till then, she recommends to continue holding the stock, and then book profits. For long-term investors, she suggests holding the stock until it sustains above Rs 1,600 for the Rs 1,750-1,800 target.
Dixon Technologies
Parekh: Overbought but trends positive.
Parekh only recommends fresh entry for aggressive traders as the stock is already in an overbought zone. "I wouldn't prefer, but having said that I see no damage to trend and momentum still looks positive," she said. "For those who want to get into the trade, Rs 14,700 is a good support, and look for a target of Rs 17,800 in the short term."
NTPC Green
Jain: Buy on dips.
According to Jain, the stock is considerably up from its issue price. The stock saw a muted listing and the issue was expensive. "It has become more dearer with good news flowing in," he noted, while recommending a hold for the next two-three years, and accumulating in a gradual manner. He advised waiting for corrections and buying on dips.
Godrej Agrovet
Jain: Hold until Q4 results.
According to Jain, the company's last quarter numbers were down both on quarterly and year-on-year basis. "We are seeing stock languishing for 3-4 months," he said, but noted by and large, the stock has given returns. He recommended waiting for the December quarter earnings for further clarity.
