Stock Market Highlights: Nifty, Sensex Continue Winning Streak; End Nearly 1% Higher

The benchmark equity indices closed with gains on Wednesday, led by share prices of Titan Ltd. and Grasim Industries Ltd.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 200.40 points, or 0.80% higher at 25,244.75, while the BSE Sensex closed 700.40 points, or 0.85% up at 82,755.51. During the day, the Nifty rose 0.89% to trade at 25,266.80 and the Sensex rose 0.93% to 82,815.91.

Shares of Titan Ltd., Grasim Industries Ltd., Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. and Infosys Ltd. were the top gainers.

While those of Bharat Electronics Ltd., Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., Eicher Motor Ltd., and Oil & Natural Gas Corp. were among the biggest laggards.

In terms of points contribution, HDFC Bank Ltd. and Reliance industries Ltd. were among stocks that led the gains in the index.

Bharat Electronics Ltd. and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. dragged the index the most.

On NSE, 14 out of 15 sectors ended in the green, with Nifty Media, IT and Consumption gaining the most.

The broader market indices settled higher as the BSE MidCap and SmallCap both advanced 0.63% and 1.61%, respectively.

The market breadth was skewed in the favour of buyers as 1,196 stocks declined, 2,786 advanced and 155 remained unchanged on the BSE
