Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., Jio Financial Services Ltd., Shriram Finance Ltd., Grasim Industries Ltd. and Tata Steel Ltd. were the top five winners on Tuesday.
While, Oil and Natural Gas Corp., Power Grid Corp. of India, IndusInd Bank Ltd., Trent Ltd. and HCL Technologies Ltd. were the losers on Tuesday.
Adani Ports was the biggest gainer, closing 2.89% higher at Rs 1,394 apiece, followed by Jio Financial Services which was up 2.85% at Rs 301.50 apiece. Shriram Finance stock advanced 2.09% at Rs 676.05 apiece. Grasim and Tata Steel were also among gainers.
ONGC was the biggest loser, closing 2.90% lower at Rs 243.92 apiece, followed by Power Grid, which was down 1.43% at Rs 285.95 apiece. IndusInd Bank stock fell 1.01% to Rs 831.95. Trent and HCLTech were also among the losers.
The benchmark equity indices ended with gains on Tuesday, led by share prices of Jio Financial Services Ltd. and Adani Ports.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 72.45 points, or 0.29% higher at 25,044.35, while the BSE Sensex closed 158.32 points, or 0.19% up at 82,055.11. During the day, the Nifty rose 1.38% to trade at 25,317.70 and the Sensex rose 1.37% to 83,018.16.
