Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) has announced its first interim dividend for the financial year 2024-25. The company's board of directors, in a meeting held on Mar. 5, approved an interim dividend of Rs 1.50 per equity share of Rs 1 each (150%).
The company, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, in an exchange filing on Mar. 5, stated that the dividend would be credited to eligible shareholders within 30 days from the date of declaration.
Who Is Eligible For BEL Dividend?
Shareholders who hold Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) shares until the record date set by the company will be eligible to receive the declared dividend.
BEL's board has fixed Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2025, as the record date for determining shareholder eligibility for the interim dividend on equity shares for the financial year 2024-25. The announcement was made through the exchange filing.
Based on the T+1 trade settlement system, shareholders need to purchase shares by Mar. 10 to be eligible for the dividend. This is because, by March 11, the shares would have been credited to their accounts, making them eligible for the payout.
Bharat Electronics Q3 Financial Performance
Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) reported a strong financial performance in the third quarter of FY25, surpassing analysts’ estimates across metrics.
The company's net profit surged 53% year-on-year to Rs 1,311 crore for the quarter that ended December 2024, exceeding Bloomberg’s consensus estimate of Rs 942 crore.
Revenue from operations saw a strong 38.7% increase, reaching Rs 5,771 crore, compared to Rs 4,162 crore in the same year-ago quarter, again surpassing analysts’ projections of Rs 5,023 crore.
The company's EBITDA rose by 55.7% to Rs 1,670 crore, higher than the estimated Rs 1,158 crore, while the EBITDA margin improved to 28.9% from 25.8%, outperforming the forecast of 23.1%.
Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) shares were trading in the green at Rs 273.59 per share, reflecting a gain of Rs 8.8 or 3.35% at 2:25 p.m. on Mar. 5. In comparison, the benchmark Nifty 50 was seen trading 1.02% higher at 22,307.30 points. Opening flat at Rs 265, the BEL stock surged to touch an intraday high of Rs 275.
BEL has delivered impressive returns over the years, gaining 30% in the past year. Over the last five years, the defence PSU stock has skyrocketed by more than 1,000%.
