The Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at Bollywood actor Dino Morea’s Mumbai residence on Friday, in connection with the Rs 65-crore Mithi River desilting money laundering case.

The investigative agency has been inside Morea’s home for over six hours and continues with the search operation. The actor was present at the location during the raid, NDTV reported citing sources.

The action is part of a larger crackdown, with ED conducting searches at multiple locations across Mumbai and Kochi.

The case against certain officials of the BMC and some others stems from a Mumbai Police economic offences wing FIR filed to probe alleged irregularities in desilting of the Mithi river that is alleged to have caused a Rs 65 crore loss to the civic body.

The EOW registered a case against 13 persons, including civic officials and contractors, for their alleged involvement in the scam.

Morea was questioned by the EOW in this case a few days back.
