Lakhisarai Election Results 2025: Congress Overtakes BJP In Latest Count
The Lakhisarai Assembly seat has seen a shift in the lead. Earlier trends showed BJP candidate Vijay Kumar Sinha ahead, but the latest numbers now place Congress candidate Amaresh Kumar in front.
The updated tally shows Amaresh Kumar with 2,852 votes, or 44.3%, while Vijay Kumar Sinha has 2,773 votes, or 43.1%. Congress currently leads by 79 votes.
Suraj Kumar of the JSP has 383 votes, followed by independent candidates and other party nominees with smaller tallies. NOTA has received 157 votes, accounting for 2.4%.
A total of 6,438 valid votes have been counted so far.

Vijay Kumar Sinha of the BJP is leading in the Lakhisarai Assembly seat as the vote count begins, according to data from NDTV. The Election Commission has not yet released vote numbers or vote shares.
Independent candidates Ramjee Mandal, Vikash Kumar Jagnani, Vijay Kumar, Subodh Kumar Suman, Abhishek Kumar and Amresh Kumar are among those in the contest. The field also includes Congress candidate Amaresh Kumar, BSP candidate Praval Kumar, JSP candidate Suraj Kumar, BLCP candidate Kusho Mahto, VYP candidate Uma Shankar Yadav and independent candidate Amresh Prasad Singh.
The votes and percentages are still awaited as counting continues.

The Lakhisaria constituency is noted to be a key stronghold for the BJP, with its candidate Vinay Kumar Sinha winning consistently in 2010, 2015, and 2020.
Largely viewed as a sure bet by the BJP, the Jan Suraaj Party's representative Suraj Kumar is aiming to subvert this expectation and clinch the seat.

Polling for the Bihar Assembly election took place in two phases, with 121 constituencies voting on Nov. 6, and 122 constituencies voting on Nov. 11, 2025. Munger voted on Nov. 6.
Bihar went to the polls as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sought another term with the Janata Dal (United) as part of the National Democratic Alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The INDIA alliance, the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, which includes the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress, contested against the NDA across the state.
