The Indian Rupee rose 34 paise to close at 85.38, against the US dollar on Friday. The currency has seen a sharp decline ever since tensions between India and Pakistan increased. It opened 13 paise weaker at 85.85 a dollar.
On Thursday, the local legal tender had dropped sharply by 89 paise to close at 85.72, after strengthening at open to 84.64. The currency had declined 39 paise to close at 84.83, against the US dollar on Wednesday.
Brent recovered 1.10% to reach almost $63 a barrel. The global benchmark was trading in the green at 63.71, whereas the US dollar index fell 0.17% to trade near day's low at 100.31 as of 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
