The Ministry of Power announced on Thursday that Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. has secured a Rs 13,300-crore contract to set up a 1,600 MW thermal power plant in Koderma, Jharkhand from Damodar Valley Corp.
The project aligns with the central government's strategic objective to enhance the nation's energy security.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Power, DVC finalised the tender for the engineering, procurement, and construction package of the Koderma TPS (2X800MW) with BHEL on June 26.
This initiative is expected to bolster DVC's thermal generation capacity to 8,140 MW by 2030, contributing significantly to both regional economic growth and local welfare.
